Masterclasses

Our masterclasses are a series of one-day events that focus on a particular clinical specialty area. All lecturers are experts in their field.
Workshops are designed for the advanced practice health professional working in primary care and other first contact roles.
Topics chosen have been based on areas selected by experienced Nurse Practitioners and other health professionals.
These popular events have proved extremely valuable for provision
of continuing professional development for advanced practitioners.
As well as enhancing knowledge and skills, they ensure your practice remains up-to-date and evidence-based.
Each day includes a discussion of related prescribing issues.

The next London based Masterclasses are:

Women's Health Masterclass – 6 hours CPD
An excellent opportunity to update and enhance your skills. Topics will include:

• advanced gynaecological assessment with opportunity for hands on skills practice
• hormonal disorders, including update on polycystic ovarian syndrome, menopause
• bleeding disorders
• pelvic pain
• urogynaecology

All topics will include relevant prescribing updates.

Ophthalmology Masterclass – 6 hours CPD
This day will focus on assessment and management of the red eye, and include
both acute and long-term conditions. The afternoon will include hands-on supervised practice of advanced techniques including slit-lamp examination.
This day is designed to build confidence in managing patients with eye presentations and skills development is guaranteed.

Minor Surgery Masterclass – 6 hours CPD
This popular and innovative event will cover a range of common minor surgical techniques, and include theory and intensive practice under close supervision. It will include local anaesthesia, incision and drainage, excisions, electrocautery, cryocautery, basic and advanced suturing techniques and glueing.
Small numbers will ensure individual attention.
